How do I hear God through the bible?
The bible tells us:

Joshua 22:5 ESV "Only be very careful to observe the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways and to keep his commandments and to cling to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.”

John 14:25 “I have spoken these things while staying with you.
John 14:26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and will cause you to remember everything I said to you.

John 5:37 And the Father who sent me has himself testified about me. You people have never heard his voice nor seen his form at any time, John 5:38 nor do you have his word residing in you, because you do not believe the one whom he sent.
John 5:39 You study the scriptures thoroughly because you think in them you possess eternal life, and it is these same scriptures that testify about me, John 5:40 but you are not willing to come to me so that you may have life.

Honesty is a good way to turn to Jesus.
Be honest, "I don't feel like hearing you." or "I don't believe you are speaking to me."

Then ask for forgiveness and He will give you grace to come to Him.

 

Matt 22:29 Jesus answered them, “You are deceived, because you don’t know the scriptures or the power of God.

 

Luke 16:29 But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; they must respond to them.’
Luke 16:30 Then the rich man said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’
Luke 16:31 He replied to him, ‘If they do not respond to Moses and the prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”

I must respond.

Acts 8:30 So Philip ran up to it and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. He asked him, “Do you understand what you’re reading?”
Acts 8:31 The man replied, “How in the world can I, unless someone guides me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.

Road to Emmaus
Luke 24:26 Wasn’t it necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and enter into his glory?”
Luke 24:27 Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them the things written about himself in all the scriptures.
Luke 24:28 So they approached the village where they were going. He acted as though he wanted to go farther,
Luke 24:29 but they urged him, “Stay with us, because it is getting toward evening and the day is almost done.” So he went in to stay with them.
Luke 24:30 When he had taken his place at the table with them, he took the bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them.

Jesus will explain ALL the scriptures.

Luke 24:32 They said to each other, “Didn’t our hearts burn within us while he was speaking with us on the road, while he was explaining the scriptures to us?”
Luke 24:33 So they got up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem. They found the eleven and those with them gathered together
Luke 24:34 and saying, “The Lord has really risen, and has appeared to Simon!”
Luke 24:35 Then they told what had happened on the road, and how they recognized him when he broke the bread.

How do I break bread with Jesus?  Just like I do with my family.  I sit down and spend time eating with them.  I would say it is even more intimate with Jesus.  I consume Him.  It is similar to eating meals together.  We talk.  We share.  We commune together.
